ARTOEND Magazine Editorial Theme Announcement

For the overarching theme across our volumes, we invite artists and writers to participate with how they personally understand or embark on bringing neuroaesthetics into life. The theory-adjacent discourse of neuroscience and of the arts seem to position the convergence of them as of-another-realm—e.g. only perceptible through rigorous analysis of the sensory or only articulable through unfamiliar terms and unorthodox lines of thought; yet, there is none of us who has not experienced beauty first-hand. Therefore, we are seeking works which address, gesture at, articulate, or interact with this gap.

We are interested in artworks and think pieces which re-ground the transdisciplinary nature of art into life, portray the experienced and the experimented, the in vivo and the in vitro, the phenomenological and the empirical through intimacies, rather than gaps, or ones which fuse neuroaesthetics with the zeitgeist and its volatile sameness. Above all, we seek works which approach the editorial theme in a way that only one’s own artistry and language could.
